I don’t know too well about other fandom. It was the prime one I ever got into. It’s got its share of rabid shipping, shipping wars, character hate, canon hate (which was precisely what I was railing against: I accept the 02 epilogue), and misplaced nostalgia (i.e. “seasons after season X do not exist to me” fans, to which I also say FUCK OFF).

All in all still, I don’t think there’s any more wankery than in the average fandom, and the tumblr crew is generally polite and coherent in my experience.
